The Village Jewellers opened its doors in our current Manuka location in late 1984 under the careful eye and guidance of Stelios and Margaret Sofoulis.
The business grew steadily over the next few years and in 1986, Tony joined the business in a full time capacity after completing his Science and Gemmological studies. Tony took over from his parents in 2000 and has continued to expand and grow the business since.
Luis, our senior jeweller, joined Village Jewellers in 1991 and has over 40 years’ experience in the jewellery trade, all of which allows peace of mind when you leave your valuable jewellery in our care for repaired or remodelled.
Our service staff Nancy, Robyn and Bernadette, have been with us for many years with over 60 years combined experience, and it is this continuity of staffing that has contributed to our enviable reputation for expert product knowledge and our friendly rapport with many of our long standing customers.
Jiyoun is our newest member of The Village Jewellers team having joined us in May 2019 to fill a void in our busy workshop.
Jiyoun previously worked in the jewellery trade in Korea and Japan for approx. 12 years and followed her family to Australia to further expand her opportunities in the jewellery trade and to be near her family.
Jiyoun has been a great addition to The Village Jewellers team, she is fluent in Korean , Japanese and English. With her skills and enthusiasm and along side Luis our existing jeweller for over 25 years the two of them are both willing and able to assist you with all your jewellery repairs, re- modelling and new creations.
